The Swan - Erica and Christina

Erica:

Erica is 24 years old from La Center, Washington. Her life has been like a roller coaster and blames her boyfriend for it. Erica’s body had fluctuated with massive weight gain and loss. Once 240 pounds, it took her two years to lose 90 pounds. However Erica still has low self-esteem and still sees a big girl. "The Swan" experts think they can give Erica the wow and pizzazz she’s been wanting, all in three months.

Erica’s plan includes:

Face:

• Brow lift
• Mid-face lift
• Lip Augmentation
• Fat Transfer
• Chin implant
• Liposuction – chin and neck

• Tummy tuck
• Breast augmentation
• Liposuction of the abdomen
• Liposuction of the thighs – inner thighs, outer thighs, back of thighs

• Zoom bleaching
• Crowns
• Davinci veneers
• Gum recontouring

Erica will also go on a 1200 calorie-a-day diet. She will also spend two hours a day, six days a week at the gym working on cardio and weight training. To help her let go off her old body image and to become an independent woman, Erica will receive weekly therapy and coaching.

Erica wants to recondition her body and grow into a secure, independent woman. She begins with a surgical consultation with plastic surgeon Dr. Haworth. The doctor points out that with a lot of loose skin, Erica needs surgical help. Her breasts are drooping and there is a lot of droopiness in the face. Erica is so excited to get a second chance. She also has a nutritional consultation and needs to lose 30 pounds. Erica is determined to win the pageant.

However, at the dentist’s office, Erica had trouble committing to veneers. At first she didn’t want to do it. Dr. Worth gave Erica a few minutes to make the decision. Eventually, Erica goes for the veneers. Dr. Worth is glad that Erica decided for the veneers, there was lot of decay in the mouth, and the veneers provided a long term solution to decay. Erica did not think the program would be this hard.

Erica is still looking forward to a fresh start and undergoes surgery. Dr. Haworth performs liposuction of the back, then proceeds with the breast augmentation. Erica’s breasts are asymmetrical and matching them is a challenge for the doctor. A facial transformation will help Erica gain that "swan-like" appearance. The surgery goes well and Erica leaves surgery in good spirits.

Erica is on track, but has a lot of work to do in the gym. She also goes through therapy to deal with issues she has with her mother. Erica realizes she needs to grow up. Erica is making progress and works hard towards making it to the pageant.

Christina:

Christina is 30 years old from Silverdale, Washington. Her husband is in the Navy and works on a submarine. When she was young, her parents got a divorce and her father never accepted her. Christina was once a heavy girl, and did not want to spend time being fat. So she kept losing weight. However, she still does not want her husband to see her without clothes on. When she is in a bathing suit, Christina is very self-conscious. By being on "The Swan," Christina wants to be a good mother to her daughter and be a good example for high self-esteem. For the next three months, "The Swan" experts will help Christina so that she can strut her stuff in a bathing suit.

• Fotofacials

Body:

• Breast augmentation
• Liposuction of the thighs – inner and outer
• Liposuction of the back
• Liposuction of the abdomen
• Liposuction of the chin
• Liposuction of the knees

Dental:

• Full reconstruction
• Zoom bleaching
• Extractions
• Gum and bone recontouring

Christina will also go on a 1700 calorie-a-day diet. She will also spend two hours a day, six days a week at the gym working on cardio and weight training to help boost metabolism. To help her gain confidence and self-esteem, Christina will receive weekly therapy and coaching.

The program begins for Christina who wants to gain self-esteem and get into pageant shape. Christina begins with a dental transformation and it involves a full mouth reconstruction.

At the gym, Christina begins to show signs that she’s resisting "The Swan" regiment. She then has a surgical consultation with Dr. Dubrow. The doctor points out the nose is twisted. When asking Christina what size she wants, she wanted the largest breasts she can get before they start looking ridiculous.

On the day of surgery, Christina has pre-surgery jitters, but still proceeds with the surgery. Dr. Dubrow has to break the nose a little bit, it is a uniquely crooked nose. The doctor does insert a large implant and lifts a large portion of muscle in the process. The next few days of recovery could be incredibly difficult for Christina. And she was having a tough time. She was in a lot of pain.

At the post-op check up, Christina was not wearing her chin strap. Dr. Dubrow stresses the importance of this as it could develop scar tissue, which could be irreversible. Two weeks later, the doctor sees that she is still not wearing the chin strap. This has put Christina’s transformation in jeopardy.

Life coach Nely Galan meets with Christina and talks to her about not being committed to the program. Hopefully Christina is able to turn things around before the big reveal.

Night of reveal:

A brand new Christina is revealed. She feels good the inside. When she looks in the mirror for the first time in three months, Christina starts crying. She couldn’t believe that was her in the reflection.

When it was Erica’s turn, she came out feeling amazing. She felt she’s done a lot of growing up while in the program. At the mirror reveal, Erica just loves what she sees. She finally got that wow and pizzazz she’s been wanting.

Erica came to the program looking to leave behind the drooping skin that made her look older, and now, she has embraced her transformation. Christina was looking to regain her figure, and has rededicated herself to become a new woman. The judges, in consultation with the experts, decided the woman who would move on to the pageant is…. Erica. For Christina, her aunt, daughter and friends came to see her new look.
