It's a lot of pressure to have your face blown-up across the silver screen, let alone your completely naked body. Every wrinkle, blemish, curve and crack is exposed to the public's critical eye. Here's a list of the brave actresses who barely blink at shedding their clothes, but shy away from the plastic surgeon's knife.

Kate Winslet – was pro-nudity for years, and now she says it's over. Maybe.

Kate WinsletWith more than 10 nude scenes under her belt at age 36, Kate Winslet told Time magazine in 2009 that The Reader may have been the world's last chance to sneak a peep. “I can't keep getting away with it, and I don't want to become 'that actress who always gets her kit off.'” She went back on her vow two years later when she appeared nude in the TV mini series "Mildred Pierce." Apparently, she just couldn't stay away.

She told V Magazine, "It definitely makes me the hypocrite of the decade. I'm just going to stop saying it." Winslet admits that onscreen nudity is always awkward. "I hate it! Listen, make no mistake, I just get on it. I just go in and say, 'Oh f**k, let's do it,' and boom! If you complain about it or procrastinate, it's not going to go away. It's a profoundly bizarre thing to do." Out of her six performances that received nominations, four of them included the actress in the buff.

Although she's not-so-conservative about stripping down on screen, Kate says plastic surgery is completely against her morals. “I will never give in,” she told the UK media, stating that she was raised to appreciate “natural beauty” and didn't want cosmetic surgery or Botox to “freeze the expression” of her face. Perhaps if natural beauty lasted forever, Kate would keep on taking it off in movies – where every slip of the nip can be “frozen,” zoomed-in and re-played for years to come.

Natalie Portman – went from no nudity to raunchy sex scene... and is still unsure

Natalie Portman"As actresses approach 40, it starts becoming really, really difficult.” – This statement coming from the 31-year-old Natalie Portman who is under no illusion of the short shelf life of Hollywood hotness. The star says she hopes she will not have to get plastic surgery, but that she wouldn't rule it out in the future.

As for her stance on nude scenes, Portman seems to be just as unsure. After she flashed her assets in Hotel Chevalier, Portman swore off getting naked on screen, saying that she felt awkward and was sorry she didn't listen to her intuition. “From now on, I'm going to trust my gut more,” she said. “Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is say no.”

Just two years later, Portman's “gut” flipped a stark 180 when it said yes to a lesbian sex scene in Black Swan. “I'm not opposed to sexuality or nudity in a film, but I'm very opposed to pornography sites, and you're pretty much giving them material if you do any of that. It's always a big dilemma for me,” she said. Portman won the Academy Award for Best Actress for the film, as well as many other Best Actress awards in several guilds and festivals.

Halle Berry – strips down if it feels right

Halle BerryHalle Berry says she is all for on-screen nudity as long as it suits the character she's playing. She even seems to be a comfortable enough with her body to say, “If the world wouldn’t persecute me, I’d take nude pictures every day of the week."  Berry bore her breasts in Monster's Ball in 2001, and won an Oscar for her performance.

When asked about whether she'd consent to plastic surgery, she told Reader's Digest, "That's one thing I'll never say never about, because I don't know," Still, she seems to frown upon the idea: "I hope I will evolve as a person who realizes it's really not about my physical appearance and not be drawn to that seductive knife." But will her acting career still have nothing to do with physical appearances when time takes a toll on her body? We think not.

Nicole Kidman – has no problem taking it off

Nicole KidmanNicole Kidman is obviously comfortable in her skin as she has appeared naked in 13 movies, five of which earned her high accolades, including two Golden Globes for Best Actress. Her streak of successful disrobing probably helped her land the racy lead role in The Reader, but due to her pregnancy, she had to decline. Kidman instead presented Kate Winslet with the award for Best Actress for that role at the 81st Academy Awards.

"I don't mind being naked,” Kidman told W magazine. “Maybe as I get older, and now after having had a baby, it might be different, but I enjoy not letting my issues get in the way of a performance. Once I start putting all my little insecurities in my mind, I'm not actually acting. Then it's about me – and it should never be about me. It should be about the character."

At the age of 45, it may not be long before her insecurities slip through the cracks. Kidman hasn't revealed whether she would or wouldn't get plastic surgery in the future, but she did tell Marie Claire that she had an experience with Botox -- and quickly added that she didn't like it and wouldn't try it again. Her words were bluntly bashed by plastic surgery lover Sharon Osbourne on Chelsea Lately when she likened Kidman's forehead to “a ****ing flat-screen TV” during a rant against women who deny having plastic surgery.

Charlize Theron – gets naked if you get her “good side”

In Snow White and the Hunstman, Charlize Theron got a taste of what it would be like to be covered head to toe in wrinkles while playing the wickedly vain Queen Ravenna. The 36-year-old is confident, but knows her beauty will fade with time.  "There’s only two things we know for sure in life - we’re going to age and die," she said. "What are we going to do about that? Some people have Botox, that’s great. Hopefully I’ll be okay with not getting Botox - who knows?"

Theron briefly stripped down for the role on the condition that she wouldn't be filmed completely from the front or back.  "I am very good with side nudity," Theron laughed during an MTV News interview. "I tend to find that's probably my best kind of nudity."

She added: "Back is a little too much back; I need an angle. I like angular nudity. I can do a small percentage of one side and the other."

Theron has appeared nude in at least eleven films including The Cider House Rules and Young Adult – both of which earned her Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress.  She appeared nude several times in the movie Monster, and won an Academy Award for Best Actress along with dozens of other awards and nominations for her performance.

There seems to be no end in sight for her love of getting naked on screen, so time will tell if she will take the plastic surgery route when the wrinkles start appearing.  "Maybe it's different when you're in your mid-sixties. I don't know, so I don't want to make statements about where I'm going to be in 30 years," Theron said. "But as of right now, I definitely have a different relationship with the way I look. It's not all-consuming. But I'm also human, so I have days when I look in the mirror and go, 'All right ... Things are definitely changing.' I can see that."
