On this week’s episode of Extreme Makeover™ the television series, two Cinderella stories are featured as Tom Kiefer of 80’s rock band Cinderella helps one participant fulfill his rock star fantasy.

David:

David, singing the Extreme Makeover™ blues, dreams of becoming a rock star. He loves to ride his motorcycle because it’s a great place to hide. David’s looks have affected his life. Growing up, he hung around outcast groups. Currently David works as a special education teacher for handicapped children, which has really opened up his personality. David has always wanted to be a rock star. Then a posse of riders arrives at David’s home. One of these bikers comes up to David, takes off his mustache, and its Sam Saboura. Sam is there to tell David he has been chosen to be on the show. So David leaves, and will come back in a few weeks, totally transformed.

Riding a motorcycle, David and Sam arrive at the makeover mansion located in the Hollywood hills. David meets with fitness trainer Michael Thurmond to discuss the workout and diet regiment. Even though David stopped working out in his 30’s, he still has a ton of muscle.

David then meets with Dr. Garth Fisher to discuss plastic surgery. His chin is a big concern and he doesn’t like his “hooky” nose. Through computer imaging, Dr. Fisher shows David what plastic surgery can help accomplish. The nose can be smoothed down, and the chin can be brought out so it’s more balanced with the rest of the face. David would like to have a superhero chin.

The day of surgery arrives and Dr. Fisher performs several procedures, including:

  • Upper and lower eyelid lift
  • Nose surgery
  • Chin augmentation
  • Liposuction of the tummy

That night was one of the worst nights of David’s life. He felt pretty lonely and was feeling the effects of undergoing surgery. So he sent a video to his wife. A week later, and after a lot of healing, David was doing much better. He goes back to Dr. Fisher’s office to have the bandages removed and take a peek at the results. David can’t believe the results. His profile has changed dramatically and Dr. Fisher came through, giving David a superhero chin.

After a week of training and dieting, David becomes ripped with muscles. He really stuck with his exercise and diet plan. It’s the best genetics Michael Thurmond has seen on the show.

80’s rock is a big influence on David. So as a surprise, Tom Kiefer of Cinderella gave David a chance to rock with him on a love song that David composed for his wife. Tom even gave David a signed Gibson guitar.

It was now Sam Saboura’s turn to help David with his makeover by providing him with style tips. Then hairstylists made a housecall to the mansion. The first part was letting David cut off part of his long hair. David finally saw the final results of his makeover and never thought in a million years he could look that good.

The whole makeover process helped David change on the inside and outside. During the big reveal, Sam Saboura had the honor of presenting David to his friends and family. When David came out, his wife couldn’t take her eyes off of him. Now David rocks with a hard body.

Amy:

Amy is from Grain Valley, MO, a picture of the heartland of America. Pretty is not what Amy sees when she looks in the mirror. Growing up, she used to scrub acne from her face. The acne scars have really bothered her. There were very few pictures of Amy growing up. Her mother was not really supportive and did not take many pictures. Amy’s husband has always been very supportive of her. She is very insecure, but does not dwell on it. Then one day, while getting her hair done, a barbershop quartet serenaded Amy with a song telling her she would be going to Los Angeles for a makeover.

The first stop was the makeover mansion located in the Hollywood hills. Then Amy meets with Dr. Garth Fisher. He inquires on what she would like to improve. Amy asks about getting a nose job and asks if liposuction will remove cellulite. Dr. Fisher informs her it will not, and cellulite is removed through diet and exercise. After the consultation visit, Amy meets with other members of the Extreme Team.

Amy meets with cosmetic dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman to discuss her teeth. He explains that dental work will be done to close the large space between her front teeth. The next visit was with fitness trainer, Michael Thurmond to discuss removing 20 to 30 lbs. of body fat. Finally Amy meets with dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban to discuss improving upon Amy’s facial skin.

The day of surgery came, along with a chance for a brand new life. Dr. Fisher performed several plastic surgery procedures on Amy, including:

  • Liposuction of the cheeks, hips and thighs.
  • Breast augmentation to bring Amy’s breasts from a size B to a size C.
  • Nose job for a thinner, more refined nose.
  • Browlift to erase worry lines.

A week later, Amy returns to Dr. Fisher’s office and gets a preview of her new look. She notices that her nose is smaller than it was before and she loves her new breasts. While recovering, it was hard for Amy to be separated from her family. It was especially harder for Amy on the day of her four-year wedding anniversary.

The next procedure for Amy’s makeover was laser skin resurfacing, performed by Dr. Shamban. Even though numbing cream is used, Amy is sedated for the procedure. Laser skin resurfacing will provide a whole new fresh top layer of facial skin. The skin is wrapped to help keep fluid close to the skin. Two weeks later, the results started to look good. However the complexion returning to normal will take time.

Workout sessions with Michael Thurmond have help Amy get rid of the “mac and cheese" butt. Dieting and working out helped Amy go from a size 14 to a size 6. Now it was Sam’s turn to find a dress that flatters Amy’s figure.

The next makeover procedure was dental work, performed by Dr. Dorfman. For Dr. Dorfman, it was one of the hardest space closures ever. Having the teeth fixed gave Amy something she’s wanted her whole life. This was a dream come true.

Back at the mansion, hair and makeup treatments provided the final touches. Amy’s hair was transformed from blond to chocolate brown. A cream foundation was applied to the face to hide the results until complexion is fully healed.

After two months, it was time for Amy to return to Grain Valley, MO. At a mansion in Missouri, a barbershop quartet sings as Amy enters into the room. Amy returns to her friends and family, radiant and ravishing. She hugged her husband and felt his warmth and love. Amy feels ready to take on the world.
