This week features Autumn and Jeff, two lucky individuals both about to receive a tremendous birthday present, they will be receiving an makeover on Extreme Makeover™ the television series.

Autumn:

Autumn is a 29-year-old schoolteacher from Santa Clarita, California. She wants a makeover to help erase the memories of her childhood. Autumn has always felt that her sisters were more beautiful than her. Plus what hurt Autumn the most was when her own mother criticized her looks. This has left her scarred on the inside. Then one day, Autumn was called in to her principal s office and was given great news. The principal told her that she would have to tell her students she ll be away because she is the next participant of Extreme Makeover the television series.

The "extreme team" plastic surgeon for Autumn is Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Jon Perlman, M.D., F.A.C.S. During consultation, Dr. Perlman first asked Autumn what she was interested in having done. Autumn said she wanted to have her chin and nose done. The doctor s suggestions were that the chin was too small in proportion to her nose and a chin implant would be needed. He also suggested taking out some of the roundness in Autumn s cheekbones and raising the brow to help make an improvement in her face. Doctor Perlman can t wait to see how she turns out.

Autumn's EXTREME MAKEOVER will include:

  • Brow lift Fat injection in the upper lip & cheek
  • Nose job (Rhinoplasty)
  • Chin implant Liposuction under chin
  • Upper & lower eyelid lift
  • Laser skin resurfacing

Dental work including:

  • Teeth whitened
  • Six Davinci veneers to be performed by William Dorfman, D.D.S.

Now came the day of surgery. Autumn was going to be turning 30 next month and thought this surgery is a good birthday present. Dr. Perlman first started on the chin implant, then moved on to the browlift. The brow was done because Dr. Perlman felt the brow was low and there was bunching of skin. Then about a week after surgery, Autumn visited Dr. Perlman to have the bandages removed and see the results of her surgery. Autumn thought her results looked amazing and was pleased with what she saw. She was so thankful to Dr. Perlman for the work he did.

The next step of Autumn s makeover was visiting fitness expert Michael Thurmond. Through his help, Autumn was able to shed pounds, firm up and tone up. After four weeks of working out, she was able to weigh less than she did in high school. Michael Thurmond was amazed and considered what Autumn has done in four weeks was truly a makeover.

Autumn s next "extreme team" expert was stylist Carol Brody. She wanted Autumn to have a wardrobe that made her look flirty and fabulous. Autumn tried some new clothes on and said that it made her feel sexy. Carol next introduced Autumn to Maurice Dadoun and Rich Ohnmacht who cut and colored her hair. Then finally makeup artist Mally Roncal applied Autumn s makeup.

Autumn was so appreciative of Dr. Perlman s work, she paid him one final visit to give him a gift. Since she taught poetry to her students, she felt it was fitting to give the doctor a poem to show her appreciation. Now it was time for the reveal.

At the reveal, Autumn finally heard what she has been wanting to hear her whole life. Autumn s mother finally told her she was beautiful and that touched her heart. Now Autumn finally felt she was as beautiful as her sisters. However there was a surprise during Autumn s reveal, Dr. Jon Perlman and Michael Thurmond made an appearance in support of Autumn s makeover. The reveal wasn t over yet, Autumn returned to her 5th grade students and they were surprised. The students gave her complements on her new looks. "Autumn has changed to spring" thanks to Extreme Makeover the television series.

Jeff:

A year ago, Jeff weighed 405 pounds and after breaking a chair from sitting on it decided to lose that weight. Through diet, exercise, and will power, Jeff was able to lose 200 pounds within a year. However with the more weight he lost, his skin began to sag. The weight was gone, but there was an enormous amount of excessive skin. Jeff still feels different and wants to be able to take his shirt off at the beach like everyone else. So on the anniversary of the day Jeff decided to lose weight, he got an oversized card saying he s going to be on Extreme Makeover the television series.

So for the next quarter of a year, Jeff will have to leave his wife and receive a full body tuck in southern California. The plastic surgeon that will undertake this massive procedure will be Dr. Garth Fisher, M.D., F.A.C.S. What s important to Dr. Fisher is that his patients are fully informed and happy with their results. During consultation, one of the suggestions Dr. Fisher gave to Jeff was that his brow gave him an angry appearance. Dr. Fisher says that the lift must be done in two phases, first the face then the body, both of them done too close together could be dangerous.

Before going into surgery, Dr. Fisher has Jeff go through a series of tests. These include a cardiology exam, echo exam, plus testing for Jeff s sleep apnea condition. Any negative results could prevent Jeff from having surgery. However the tests were good and Jeff was cleared for surgery.

Stage One of Jeff s "EXTREME MAKEOVER" includes: Face lift, Neck lift, Upper eyelid lift, Nose job, Brow lift with bone contouring.

In a month, Jeff will receive stage two, which will include three tuck procedures: the stomach, arms and thighs. Later he will receive, LASIK eye surgery, teeth whitening, and 8 Davinci veneers.

The day of surgery will take place on Jeff s birthday. During surgery, Jeff s vitals were always monitored and everything was being done as predicted. After completing stage one of Jeff s procedures, Dr. Fisher called Jeff s wife and told her the procedure went really good.

After surgery, Jeff found out the rest of his surgery is in jeopardy. Medical doctor, Stephen Patt, examined Jeff s post-surgery condition. Due to his low nutrition history and surgery, Jeff may have lost a lot of blood. Jeff really wants his body lift, but doesn t want to risk his life over it and learn to accept. However more tests came back with excellent results. This is a dream come true for Jeff. The next episode will premiere Jeff s body tuck and his final reveal. Stay tuned.
