Extreme Makeover™ the television series

On tonight’s episode of Extreme Makeover™ the television series, a full family makeover will take place. The parents will get their extreme makeovers while the kids receive mini makeovers.

Family Edition:

The story begins with the family being interviewed, thinking they are being auditioned for the show, when in fact Extreme Team stylist Sam Saboura is waiting outside to tell the family they have all been selected for the show; one family, five makeovers.

Ethan and Geri met on the internet. They loved each other’s personality and sense of humor. This was a second marriage for each of them and a second chance at love. Through this makeover, the two get a second chance at youth and beauty.

For Geri, she never got to be a teenager and had all of her kids when she was young. She feels her breasts are small and wears a padded bra. She has not felt good about herself. She doesn’t feel confident when she’s intimate with Ethan and would like more. Ethan is 44 and feels like he looks much older. He and Geri eloped to Las Vegas, and the kids missed out on the wedding.

Ethan and Geri arrive at the Extreme Makeover™ mansion. Their makeovers begin that very day through a consultation with plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher. Ethan and Geri help design each others’ makeover. Wife suggests to remove the bulge from Ethan’s nose. Ethan is happy with Geri’s breasts and whatever she wants is fine with him, but suggests that the breasts look natural. Geri will have surgery first, but unlike most candidates on Extreme Makeover™ the television series, she is not alone. Geri is ready to say hello to new body.

The procedures Geri received include:

• Brow lift
• Crow’s feet release
• Liposuction of the abdomen to gain a flatter tummy
• Liposuction of the thighs to make them firmer
• Breast augmentation from A cup breasts to C cup breasts
• Tummy tuck
• Nose surgery

Geri’s surgery is completed. Ethan sees that his wife looks out of it and there’s not much he can do. For the next three days later, Ethan helps his wife recovery from surgery. For the couple, it is like a honeymoon with surgery. Being alone away from the kids is nice for them. However, back at home, while the parents are off having their makeover, the kids decide to throw a party at the house.

Now it was Ethan’s turn to undergo surgery. He is nervous about surgery feeling excited and scared at the same time. He is given anesthesia, and Ethan goes to sleep looking like an old man, but will wake up with years taken off.

Ethan’s procedures include:

• Browlift
• Facelift and neck lift, with these procedures, it’s like pressing rewind on Ethan’s face
• Upper and Lower eyelid lift actually lifts years away
• Nose surgery helps straighten an off-center nose.
• LASIK eye surgery with Dr. Maloney

When Ethan wakes up, his better half is there waiting for him.

A week later, Ethan and Geri get a preview of each other’s results. First they look at the face. Geri notices the results of her nose and likes what she sees. Ethan is very happy for her. When it came time for Ethan’s unveiling, Geri thought the results look nice. Dr. Fisher assures them that the results of the nose surgery will get better with time. Ethan’s eyes also look more open than before. Next it was time for the body bandages come off, Geri’s breasts turn out great according to Dr. Fisher.

Fitness guru, Michael Thurmond then helps the couple get into shape. For Geri, her upper body and lower body are out of proportion. For Ethan, he has some “chicken legs" that need to be taken care of. Change his shape. Michael Thurmond puts Ethan on a high carb diet, while Geri goes on a high protein diet. Going through this whole makeover experience is like a vacation for the two. While on their makeover, the couple is learning more about each other, it was like meeting each other all over again.

Ethan and Geri have shared their makeover for six weeks; however Sam Saboura comes by to tell them that they will be separated for last two weeks. So the two say their goodbyes and will not see each other until their final reveal. Ethan and Geri leave the makeover mansion, and it is the kids turn. The three kids spend time at the mansion for a mini makeover weekend. During that time Sam gets them stylistically instep. Each kid in the family feels style challenged. So Sam takes Denae (20) Amber (18) and Josh (15) out shopping for a new wardrobe.

Geri then meets with Dr. Ava Shamban. The doctor sees that Geri’s skin is a mess and it makes her look older, and she will have to use every laser system in her office. Intense pulse light helps treat brown spots, while Smoothbeam laser treats acne and acne scars. Dr. Shamban also injects hyaluronic acid to give Geri kissable lips. What Geri does not realize is that Ethan is just next door waiting to get his dermatology procedures done. Dr. Shamban tells Ethan he has dermatitis. He has been using his wife’s makeup to cover up skin condition. Dr. Shamban provides skin treatment for the dermatitis. She also performs laser hair removal to remove hair found close to the ears, which resulted from the facelift.

Next for the couple was a visit with cosmetic dentist Dr. Donia, separate visits, of course. They received crowns and veneers during their visit and after they each left the doctor’s office, they gained a smile worth thousands.

Stylist Sam Saboura takes the kids, then mom, then dad, out to get some style for their big reveal. First it was shopping for what they will wear the night of their reveal, then it was back to the makeover mansion for hair and makeup to provide the finishing touches.

That evening, Ethan and Geri had a romantic reveal, where they saw each other’s new looks for first time before revealing it to everyone else. This was an extraordinary experience for both of them.

Finally came time for the big reveal. Family and friends came out to witness this family makeover. With Sam doing the introductions, the kids’ mini makeover reveal was first. Then came the parents turn. Everyone was thrilled by the results. Daughters Denae and Amber are in shock when they see their parents’ new look, and are even moved to tears. Sam had one more surprise for the family. Since the children missed out on Geri and Ethan’s wedding, the show is sending them all to Las Vegas for another wedding, but this time, with the kids present. And what happens next is featured on next week’s episode.
