Actress Jenny McCarthy pays a visit to Extreme Makeover™ the television series to help present her mother with a mini-makeover. Plus, Steve, an accomplished stand-up comedian, and Ryann, a pre-med student, get their makeovers.

Mini Makeover - Linda:

Actress Jenny McCarthy wants her mom Linda to have a mini-makeover and looking like a babe. Linda works as a custodian in the Chicago area, where Jenny and Extreme Team style expert Sam Saboura come by to surprise her. They take her to California for a mini-makeover. Linda never liked her smile, but cosmetic dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman changes that by providing her with a beautiful smile. Sam helps Linda with some style tips and to help pick out a new outfit. Hair colorist Kim Vo changes Linda's hair color and B2B hair salon provides her with a new hairstyle. Celebrity makeup artist Darcy Gilmore provides the finishing touches with makeup. Then Linda had her big reveal in front of Jenny and the rest of her family and friends.

Steve:

Steve is an accomplished stand-up comedian who has been on the Tonight Show with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. He is also a loving father of an 8 year old boy. As a comedian, Steve feels that he is in charge of when people are laughing. Steve is always the butt of his own jokes and uses his looks as material for his comedy act. While he doesn't want to lose his ethnicity, he would like to change his nose. Steve also grew up cross-eyed and would like to have them straightened. He feels that a makeover would change everything in his life. During one of Steve's show, comedienne Kathy Griffin, who has known Steve for 15 years, makes a surprise visit to tell Steve that he is going to be on the Extreme Makeover™ television series.

For Steve, not seeing his son for eight weeks will be the hardest part of his makeover. The makeover begins with a visit to Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher. Steve jokes around with Dr. Fisher saying he would like to have his nose enhanced like a clown and have his ears sticking way out. After the consultation visit, Steve meets with eye surgeon Dr. Arthur Rosenbaum to discuss his cross-eyed condition. The doctor tells Steve that there is a high risk for double vision with this operation. That is something that Steve has to seriously think about. Steve decides to go ahead with the operation. 24 hours after the surgery, there is a difference in appearance and no double vision.

Then it was time for Dr. Fisher to perform surgery on Steve. A chin implant gives Steve a leading man look, liposuction sculpts the jaw line, and then the doctor provides a lift to the cheek, face and upper eyelid. Finally Dr. Fisher sculpts a new nose for Steve. In a later surgery, Dr. Maloney provides LASIK eye surgery, and Dr. Shamban provides Steve with better skin. A few days after surgery, the bandages come off and Steve likes his new chin and nose.

Steve has been in the Makeover Mansion for over a month, but his son comes by to spend a day with him. While at the Mansion, Michael Thurmond helps Steve to work out. Sam Saboura provides some style tips on how to dress. Then for final touches, Steve is given a new brown hair color, a shave, and a new hairstyle. It was time for the final reveal.

Two months since the makeover journey began, now Steve has a new look and new jokes. Steve has his reveal at a comedy club in Hollywood. Steve goes on stage and reveals his new look to everyone, then goes and gives his son a big hug. After the cheering and applause, Steve tries out his new comedy routine.

Ryann:

Ryann works at a plastic surgery office, and one day wants to become a plastic surgeon. She is a pre-med student who knows the pain of the patients coming in for plastic surgery. Ryann used to be called names in school and would go home crying. Nobody ever thought she was a pretty girl. Having plastic surgery would help give her confidence. Then, Ryann brought her friends and family along with her to Dr. Barbara Hayden's office. She thinks she is going there to have a consultation with one of her heroes. Ryann tells the doctor that she would like to have a chin. She also doesn't like her ears and asks the doctor what could be done about them. Then, Dr. Hayden tells Ryann that she has been chosen for an extreme makeover and looks forward to working on her.

Before the operation, Dr. Hayden goes over the surgery with Ryann. The doctor tells Ryann that if she goes too big with the augmentation, that she would regret it. Ryann just asks Dr. Hayden to do what she thinks is best. Dr. Hayden sculpts the nose, pins back the ears, liposuctions the neck, back and chin. The lip is enhanced and so are the breasts, along with a breast lift. At a later time, Dr. Bill Dorfman provides Ryann with a beautiful smile and Dr. Robert Maloney performs LASIK eye surgery. A few days after surgery, Ryann is back at Dr. Hayden's office. During the post-op visit, Dr. Hayden shows Ryann a video of her surgery while providing commentary on what was done and answering questions. After watching the video, the bandages are taken of, and Ryann sees her chin and loves her new breast size.

To help educate Ryann even more about the plastic surgery industry, Dr. Hayden brings Extreme Team plastic surgeons Dr. Anthony Griffin, Dr. Garth Fisher, and Dr. Harvey Zarem to the Makeover Mansion to meet with Ryann and answer any questions she might have. Each doctor gives her advice from the heart. Then it was time for Sam Saboura to provide Ryann with a new wardrobe, which included a new lab coat. Then, for the finishing touches, Kim Vo turns Ryann from a blonde to a brunette, and then a new hairstyle and makeup get Ryann ready for the final reveal.

At the reveal, there were a lot of tears of joy, especially from Ryann's mom. By being a patient, Ryann hopes to be a better doctor.
