Extreme Makeover™ the television series

On this week’s show we follow the makeover stories of Regina and Nellie. One looks to make changes to their facial appearance, and one wants to change their buttocks appearance. These two people will have the opportunity to enhance their appearance when they find out they have been selected to appear on Extreme Makeover™ the television series.

Regina:
Regina is a 47-year old mother of two from Sacramento, California. She is divorced and is looking to start dating again. However she wants to look different. She is unhappy with the appearance of her “turkey neck,” the size of her nose, and she has always wanted a shapelier butt. Regina even wears a padded support to give the appearance of a better posterior. Since pre-school, Regina was ridiculed for her nose, buttocks and breasts. She was always self-conscious about her looks and today, as a home day care provider for pre-school aged children, she is reminded of those hard years on a daily basis. Since her divorce she has lacked the confidence to try to find a new partner. She hopes that by being on Extreme Makeover™ the television series, the procedures can help her regain her confidence. So during dinner, the show’s supervising producer came by. Regina thought the producer was there to give her information on how to apply for the show. Instead, the producer was there to tell Regina she had been selected for the show. Regina felt that her prayers were answered.

The first stop for Regina was visit with her Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Griffin. The first thing Dr. Griffin asks Regina is what would she like to talk about. Regina pointed out that she wanted her nose worked on, and she also asked about Dr. Griffin’s butt lift procedure. Brazilian butt lift is a procedure that can help improve the appearance of the butt. It is called the Brazilian butt lift because it gives flat bottom women the curves you see on the beaches of Brazil. How Dr. Griffin will perform the procedure is by taking the fat collected from Regina’s front and injecting it in the buttocks. Regina felt good about her meeting with Dr. Griffin.

Regina’s surgical makeover procedures included:

• Brazilian butt lift
• Brow lift
• Upper and lower eyelid lift
• Rhinoplasty.
• Liposuction of the abdomen, hips and chin
• Tummy tuck

Three weeks after surgery, it was time for the next set of procedures. Dr. Bill Dorfman provided the dental work. Regina always wanted dental implants, and was screaming for joy when she found out she would get her wish. Dr. Robert Maloney performed Regina s LASIK eye surgery, which was able to give Regina 20/20 vision. Next was a visit from Extreme team stylist Sam Saboura, to help Regina pick out her wardrobe and after hair and makeup stylists performed their magic on Regina, it was time for her to go home and present her new appearance to her friends and family.

Nellie:
Devon, nicknamed Nellie, is a 35-year old single mother from Alaska. Her looks have made her self-conscious about being intimate, afraid to even kiss someone. Nellie grew up normal, but ever since high school she has suffered a mysterious lip deformity and her upper lip hangs over her teeth. Plus the appearance of her teeth also bothers her. She does not like to smile with her mouth open. Nellie works as a bartender at a local hangout and one day her boss gave the announcement that Nellie was selected to be on Extreme Makeover™ the television series.

The first stop on Nellie s makeover was a consultation visit with Extreme Team plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher. Dr. Fisher asked Nellie what s bothering her and Nellie quickly pointed out her eyelids and they have gotten droopier over time. However Dr. Fisher pointed out Nellie s lip was the first thing he noticed. Dr. Fisher said he can try to improve them, however the lips might not be balanced. As for the eyelids, Dr. Fisher also suggested a brow lift to help improve the appearance.

Unfortunately, the procedure to correct Nellie’s lip deformity is a high-risk procedure and will be challenging for Dr. Fisher. Since this was uncharted territory for him, Dr. Fisher had to be creative. Five days after surgery, Nellie went back to the doctor’s office for a mini-reveal. The lips never look good at the beginning, but will look better once healed.
