This week s show follows the story of a young woman looking for a reason to smile and a man looking to get his life back on track. These two individuals will get a chance to have their lives changed when they find out they have been selected to participate in Extreme Makeover™ the television series.

Kimberly
Kimberly is 31 years old and from Jersey City, New Jersey. She is a woman who does not like to smile and to have her teeth fixed would cost more than her annual salary. Kimberly says her caps need to be replaced, and she has no back teeth. Basically she wants a dental makeover. Kimberly s dental appearance came from her father s side of the family and her parents feel bad that they were not able to correct it for her. Her appearance has started to take its toll on her emotionally and starting to become very standoffish and not very social, which her friends and family say is unlike her. That is why Kimberly decided to apply for Extreme Makeover™ the television series. Weeks after applying, Kimberly and her friends took a trip to Times Square in New York. Her friends had a huge surprise for her because on the jumbotron in Times Square announced that Kimberly has been chosen for an Extreme Makeover™.

In Los Angeles, Kimberly meets with her plastic surgeon, Dr. Anthony Griffin. Dr. Griffin is considered on of the leading authorities on plastic surgery for African Americans. The doctor asked Kimberly how he could help her and she explained what she wanted. One of these included the removal of her third nipple. Other procedures were discussed as well and by the end of the consultation, Kimberly was well informed of the procedures she would undergo.

Kimberly s plastic surgery procedure included:

Removal of a third nipple
Nose Job
Lower eyelid lift
Upper lip reduction
Breast augmentation
Liposuction of the abdomen and thighs

The main part of Kimberly s makeover was the dental work. This would be a challenge for dentist Dr. Bill Dorfman.

Dental procedures included:

Extraction of 6 front teeth and 4 lower teeth
Lip and gum repositioning
Crown lengthening
Crowns and bridges
Dentures
Porcelain veneers

Kimberly also received PRK eye surgery from Dr. Robert Maloney and laser hair removal from Dr. Ava Shamban. Of course, fashion stylist Sam Saboura provided Kimberly with the finishing touches for her big reveal.

The end of Kimberly s extreme journey was at the same place it started, in Times Square. It was there where she found out she was chosen for the show, and it was there where her new look and smile was revealed for all of Times Square to see.

Arthur:
Arthur is 55 years old and from Chester, Maryland. He has gone through a lot recently, losing his wife, job and savings. This loss has taken an emotional toll on Arthur. He wants a makeover to help him get his life back on track. Arthur gets his wish when he finds out he is selected to be on Extreme Makeover™ the television series.

After arriving in Los Angeles, the first stop of Arthur s makeover is to have a consultation with plastic surgeon Dr. Brent Moelleken. During the consultation, Arthur explained to Dr. Moelleken the areas that he would like to have worked on and the doctor explained to Arthur what he could do to help. Afterwards, both were confident in the procedures that will be performed to help Arthur achieve that new look.

Browlift
Facelift
Neck Lift
Cheek Lift
Nose Job
Upper & Lower eyelid surgery
Liposuction of the chest and flanks
Tummy tuck

After days of recovering, Arthur was able to get a sneak peek of the results of the surgery and was quite pleased with the results. Only after fully healing, will Arthur be fully able to see the results.

Arthur underwent other cosmetic procedures, this included skin treatments from dermatologist Dr. Ava Shamban.

At the end, Arthur returned home to reveal his new look to his family and friends, including his four sons. With his new look Arthur hopes to find someone new in his life.
