This
week marks the season finale of Extreme Makeover the television series
and it features Evelyn and Sharon as the participants. Evelyn is a 29-year-old
waitress from Jacksonville, FL and is a single mother trying to raise
three kids. However, unlike the other participants that have taken it
upon themselves to contact the show; it was her 11-year-old daughter that
wrote to show asking that her mother be chosen for Extreme Makeover the
television series. This other participant, Sharon is 27 years old, is
also a mother of three living and lives in Livonia, MI. She wants a makeover
because she has been living in the shadow of her identical twin sister
for as long as she can remember. Well Evelyn s daughter and Sharon s wishes
come true because their applications were accepted for Extreme Makeover
the television series.
This week, the plastic surgeon on the "extreme team" is Dr. Robin T.W.
Yuan, M.D. and the dentist is Dr. Debra King, D.D.S. Dr. Yuan is the first
"extreme team" member that both Evelyn and Sharon meet. At each of their
consultations, they discuss what they would like the doctor to do for
them, and then Dr. Yuan adds his own suggestions to the discussion. After
consultation, both parties have a clear understanding of what is going
to be done on the day of surgery.
Next up for the makeover process was getting into shape. This was done with
the help of personal trainer Michael Thurmond, creator of the "Six Week
Body Makeover." Fashion stylist Philip Bloch provided fashion tips for Evelyn.
Then beauty consultant Veronica Hinman, beauty editor of US Weekly, oversaw
all of the hair and makeup experts. Celebrity hair stylist Linda Cho did
hair and celebrity makeup artist Margaret Flores did makeup. Now that her
makeover was complete, Evelyn can reveal her new look to her 11-year-old
daughter and the rest of her friends and family.
Now that surgery and dental work were taken care of, it was time to complete
the Sharon s new look. This included getting into shape with the help of
personal trainer Michael Thurmond, creator of the "Six Week Body Makeover."
Fashion stylist Philip Bloch provided fashion tips for Sharon. Then beauty
consultant Veronica Hinman, beauty editor of US Weekly, oversaw all of the
hair and makeup experts. Celebrity makeup artist Margaret Flores also did
makeup for Sharon, but celebrity hair stylist Justin Anderson gave Sharon
her new hairstyle. With her makeover complete, it was now time for Sharon
to go home to reveal her new look to her twin sister, as well as the rest
of her friends and family.
Extreme Makeover the television series will return for its second season
in the Fall with new participants, and new "extreme team" members (and some
returning ones as well). Until next season.
