Extreme Makeover™ the television series

Before becoming a hit weekly program, Extreme Makeover™ the television series began as a one-hour special on ABC™, showcasing normal people undergoing dramatic changes in their looks and their style. However, the success of this show led to ABC™ ordering more episodes. A few more episodes premiered in the Spring, then by Fall, Extreme Makeover the television series was a regular on the ABC™ lineup.

Like the regular episodes, the participants were chosen out of thousands of applications, hoping theirs will be chosen. This episode featured Stacey, Stephanie and Luke as the fortunate individuals chose to have a makeover. Stacey is a 31-year-old certified medication aide, Stephanie is a 24-year-old single mom and insurance representative, and Luke is a 29-year-old personal trainer.

The plastic surgeon on this episode was Dr. Garth Fisher, M.D., F.A.C.S. On the day of surgery, Dr. Fisher and his staff provided the cosmetic surgery procedures needed to begin Stacey, Stephanie and Luke’s makeover. These are the procedures Dr. Fisher performed on each patient:

After having plastic surgery, all three received dental work from Dr. William Dorfman, D.D.S. Now that the doctors were done with them, it was time for the rest of the professionals to do what they do best.

Personal trainer Michael Thurmond, creator of the "Six Week Body Makeover," oversaw their diet and exercise regimen for all three participants, including Luke, who was a personal trainer himself. Brenda Cooper, former host of E!'s "Fashion Emergency," provided fashion advice by helping select their wardrobes. Then finally, Jose Eber and his team of hair and makeup experts made their transformations complete. Now Stacey, Stephanie and Luke were ready to face their friends, family and the whole world, their new looks thanks to Extreme Makeover™ the television series.
