Now, I smile in pictures
12/5

I hated having my picture taken - my teeth tilted inwards and overlapped. I couldn't afford orthodontics so my general dentist suggested I wear an orthodontic appliance to move the teeth forward and apart.

When the appliance was in place it looked like a regular orthodontic retainer, except the wires put pressure on the teeth that needed to be moved, from behind. Being in my early twenties, an appliance was much easier to accommodate than braces.

The dentist adjusted the wires every two or three weeks to keep pressure on the teeth. After 4 months, my teeth no longer titled inwards or overlapped. The dentist adapted the retainer with new plastic to keep the teeth in their new position for awhile.

The next step was to use cosmetic bonding to contour and shape the six front teeth. Not only have I eliminated the wear and tear on my lower front teeth, but my smile looks like I spend much time and money on orthodontics. Now, I smile in pictures.
