Plastic Surgery for Mother's Day the New Celebrity Fad
What better way to bond with your mother on Mother’s Day than to treat her to a relaxing a facial, massage or mani/pedi? According to today’s celebs, the basic pampering is not enough. The new way to feel pretty and pampered with mom is a trip to the plastic surgeon’s office.
Supermodel Christie Brinkley and daughter Alexa Ray Joel made theirprocedures a mother-daughter date in 2010. At the Upper East Side’s Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan, twenty-six-year-old Alexa got a nose job, and Brinkley got a face lift. Together they spent $75,000.
Brinkley has also allegedly undergone Botox, Restylane and a breast augmentation. It would not be surprising if the rumors were true, as the 58 year-old sports little more than crows feet compared to how she looked in her prime.
Sharon Osbourne, 59, has had her fair share of plastic surgery, admittedly spending $172,320 on various procedures like her stomach stapling, tummy tuck', liposuction on her arms, a face lift, a brow lift and a breast enhancement.
Unlike her mother, Kelly Osbourne strongly refutes rumors of having any type of cosmetic surgery that led to her recent dramatic weight loss. The 25-year-old insisted in her column in Britain’s Closer magazine that she couldn’t even have cosmetic surgery if she wanted to because of her past addictions - she would not be able to take the pain medication. Although this new-and-improved mother-daughter duo don’t appear to have plastic surgery in common, Kelly has actually gone with Sharon to some of her appointments for support and time with “mum.” In spite of all the rumors, Kelly said she would not rule out cosmetic surgery when she’s older.
Fifty-eight-year-old Tina Knowles and daughter Beyoncé have had a close relationship throughout Beyoncé’s rise to stardom. To keep her skin as smooth and glowing as her daughter, Tina Knowles likely uses Botox and fillers like Restylane and Juvederm to plump up her skin. At 30, Beyoncé has been rumored to have had a nose job, breast augmentation and possible liposuction.
Goldie Hawn and daughter Kate Hudson have not admitted to having plastic surgery, but for a 66-year-old, Goldie has surprisingly taut skin and a refined jawline. It is suspected that she has had fat injections, Restylane, laser treatments and a facelift. According to US Weekly, Kate looked noticeably fuller on top while poolside in Miami last year, possibly due to breast augmentation surgery.
Looking spritely at 69, Blythe Danner has admitted to having Botox, and a Face Lift and Neck Lift along with a Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) are suspected. Daughter Gwyneth Paltrow, 39, may not be as sold, as she hasn’t admitted to surgery, but told Extra that at a certain point she will “do things here and there.”
It’s no surprise that at 78, Joan Rivers rises above the rest in the amount of work she has had done. It was recently rumored that she’s gone under the knife 739 times. Her daughter Melissa, 44, has had botox and breast implants, but it seems unlikely that she’ll follow in her mother’s footsteps, as she has reportedly attempted to discourage her mother from getting more major surgeries.
