Breast SurgeryWhen you think of plastic surgery, what’s the most common procedure that comes to mind? Usually, everyone thinks of breast implant surgery when the conversation of cosmetic enhancement comes up. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, breast augmentation was the number one procedure performed in 2010 - 318,123 patients underwent this surgery.

Although many women will probably say that they are unhappy with their natural breasts, there is a small number of those say the same thing about their breast implants. Typically, the desire to gain more volume and achieve a better contour is what drives women seek an enlargement. However, there are some women who later regret or are simply over having breast implants and wish to remove them. Case in point – “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Tamra Barney has recently stated that she wants to remove her breast implants. Having already replaced them with a smaller size in the past, she now wants to have a more natural appearance and not letting anyone else influence her decision, even her husband!

In addition to Barney, some of Hollywood’s beauties have admitted to replacing or removing their breast implants:

  • Victoria Beckham (removed)
  • Denise Richards (replaced)
  • Pamela Anderson (replaced)
  • Jenny McCarthy (replaced)
  • Sharon Osbourne (removed)

As the economy suffered, so did plastic surgery, which may account for the acquired taste in a more natural appearance. With a greater focus on a “real look” it can explain why these ladies opted to removeor replace their implants. Gone are the days of “stripper boobs” and here are the days that we see a more proportionate outcome in breast augmentation patients.

Have you undergone a breast implant removal or replacement
