Liposuction removes bulges exercise and diets can't take away.

You work out. You eat right. You watch your weight, but you’re still not happy with the way you look in the mirror. Saddlebags at the thighs, protrusions at the hips, fat accumulations over the stomach or beneath the chin may be resistant to exercise and diet. Liposuction is a safe and effective way to remove these unsightly bulges, giving you an improved shape and contour.

Contouring your body

Liposuction, also known as suction-assisted lipectomy, is a cosmetic surgery procedure that removes localized deposits of excess fat from areas of your body, giving you a more flattering shape. The procedure is normally performed at an outpatient facility under “twilight sedation” or local anesthesia. Unwanted deposits of fat are drawn off through tiny incisions strategically placed to be hidden from view. The recovery time is minimal and you can return to work or normal activities within a few days to a week.

Help for many places

Liposuction can improve the shape and appearance of many areas of the body. Women and men frequently have body sculpting done under the chin, on the hips, thighs, abdomen, back, or even arms and legs. Men can benefit from liposuction by removing bulges around the waist or reducing excess tissue in the breast or chest area. Liposuction is done alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures.

The right surgeons, the right approach

The surgeons at the Institute for Cosmetic Surgery are board certified in plastic surgery, and are experienced in liposuction techniques. Today, there are several new technologies that can be beneficial to patients undergoing liposuction. The “tumescent technique” allows improved fat removal with less bleeding and discomfort. Ultrasound-assisted liposuction can be used to treat more difficult areas, such as the back or previously treated areas. Liposuction is normally a safe procedure. However, any surgery involves risk. Our surgeons will evaluate your general health and counsel you so that you can make an informed judgment on your surgery. For more information, or to schedule a consultation, visit Dr. Fedele.
